How to Prepare

A little preparation can help ensure a smooth, enjoyable experience for both you and your pet.

• Contact your studio before your session. We recommend contacting your local studio before your session to discuss your pet and any special accommodations they may need.
• Complete the pet waiver. To save time on the day of your appointment, please review and complete our pet waiver form before arriving at the studio.
• Bring favorite toys or treats. Treats and favorite toys are excellent tools for keeping pets engaged and capturing natural expressions. Bringing familiar items can also help pets feel more comfortable in a new environment.
• Bring personal props. If you’d like to include a favorite blanket, toy, bandana, perch, or other meaningful item in your portraits, feel free to bring it along. Personal props often make photos even more special and help showcase your pet’s personality.
• Please note that, for sanitation purposes, studio props are not used during pet photography sessions.
• Make a quick potty stop. For dogs and other pets that require it, a quick potty break before your appointment can help prevent accidents and keep your pet more comfortable throughout the session.

Are session fees charged for animals?

Yes. Pets are treated like any other photography subject and count as one session fee unless your offer waives the fee or you’re a Perks Club member.

Can I use a coupon for a pet session?

What is your service animal policy?

Service animals are welcome in all JCPenney Portraits studios at any time. Sessions with service animals can be scheduled online or by phone, and a pet waiver is not required.
